1965 - The Rolling Stones set out on a UK tour, with opening acts The Hollies and Goldie and Gingerbreads.

1969 - Dusty Springfield collapsed during a TV appearance.

1982 - Blues Brother and legendary SNL alum John Belushi died.

1985 - REO Speedwagon earned a No. 1 hit with “Can’t Fight This Feeling.”

1994 - Grace Slick was arrested after pointing a shotgun at police at her Tiburon, California home. The former Jefferson Airplane / Starship singer claimed to have been under stress after her Mill Valley house burned down the year before.

2002 - The Osbournes began its run on MTV. The reality show was a surprise smash, as audiences became enamored with the doddering Ozzy and his quirky family.
